Project Story:

Ashlyn and Abraham of Rebop Farm care deeply about their land, their livestock, and their community, so these three things have been interwoven in their lives. However, hosting music nights and selling their cheese and milk out of their living room was getting cumbersome. Instead of building a roadside farm shack and going to town for jam sessions, they wanted to bring their community to the farm to share the views and the serenity of the space. They decided to invest in a new building which would combine the functions of farm stand and community room and went above and beyond to make sure the space would be high-performing for generations to come. It was important that the building be low-maintenance, comfortable, durable , and flexible. In the farm store they sell their dairy and meat products as well as local value-added products from local artisanal food makers. The community room now hosts local musical artists on weekend nights (these days with masks on and limited capacity), with guests spilling out onto the deck to dance. They look forward to when the community room will be able to host yoga classes and music nights at full capacity as they envisioned when we began design.
