Project Story:

Conant Lodge - along with the surrounding cabins that make up Cold River Camp - is owned by the Appalachian Mountain Club, and has served as a gathering space since its construction in the early 1900's. The Lodge houses a commercial kitchen and dining facilities which have hosted campers for over 100 years. However, both needed upgrades and expansion to serve the next generations of guests.

Ben Southworth of Garland Mill is the design-builder for the project, with over 20 years of experience designing and building in the North Country and a great knowledge of local resources. They brought us in as a New Hampshire licensed architect to help with design and documentation. This renovation will eliminate fossil fuels in the lodge, and future solar projects could deliver Cold River Camp as a zero-energy facility. We're coordinating with the all volunteer committee from Appalachian Mountain Club to ensure the building's renovation and expansion will prepare it to serve guests for the next 100 years.
