Here in Amherst, we’re deep in the frosty grip of winter, but our amazing builder friends are hard at work, crafting stunning homes that will soon be filled with warmth and life. While the temperatures drop, we’re sending cozy, warm vibes your way to keep you inspired through the season.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates, and thank you for being part of the Graphite Studio journey!

Project Highlight: Dragon Den

We took a trip to check in on Dragon Den, after the family moved in, to check on systems and see how things were going. After some start-up glitches with the condensing dryer, and a strange leak under one of the doors, the house is starting to behave as expected! Owners had one strong recommendation: all new houses should have a hidden door to the bedrooms!” Pictured, some of our large format windows, and some of the handsome work done by Mathes Hulme Builders on the timber frame garage.

The story doesn’t end there—just up the stream, another chapter is unfolding: Grandma’s Phoenix Nest, a companion home that will add even more love and connection to this magical family.

Project Progress: Phoenix Nest

This week marked truss day at Phoenix Nest, and it’s been amazing to watch the transformation unfold. When we visited last month, Mathes Hulme Builders were putting up the first wall—a thrilling milestone! We had the chance to consult on a few details for the girder beams and witness this stunning home take shape.

The progress here is nothing short of astonishing, and we’re so excited to see this dream home come to life!

Project Progress: West Dover

This 1980s cabin near a popular ski resort was meant to be the perfect getaway for a couple—until mold was discovered in the basement and walls, rendering it uninhabitable. They turned to Owl’s Head Builders to address issues like basement moisture and water damage from the deck. We joined the team to help with the new interiors, decks and stairs for a fresh start. This marks our third collaboration with Owl’s Head, and we’re thrilled to help bring this dream cabin back to life!
